Acadium’s mission is to bring advanced technology to the world and deliver education to people who previously have not had the opportunity to improve their lives through education. Expanding on an existing distance education foundation, Acadium’s platform enables learners to have access to a live classroom from the comfort of their home or location of convenience by using available consumer appliances.
In advancing economies, education has been a privilege, as well considered by some as a right, for a vast majority of individuals. Education serves as a catalyst to provide for a meaningful and productive lifestyle. In the 21st century, it is becoming increasingly important to provide this right and privilege to a vast number of individuals who, until now, have not had the opportunity to improve their lives through education.
Acadium, Inc. provides a technology that enables educators to reach a greater number of people than ever before. Current distance education technologies are out of reach for people in impoverished communities and in rural areas. The Acadium system utilizes simple technologies available in most environments — mobile phones and televisions. The patent-pending Acadium system combines television, video-enabled mobile phones, and geosynchronous satellites to create a live classroom for every distance learner.
