How mTrek Works:

Preparation

1. Educational institution signs up for a customizable mTrek web site.
2. Instructor schedules a fieldtrip through an easy-to-use web interface. A password for the fieldtrip is created and a link to the fieldtrip is posted for students.
3. Fieldtrip link and password are sent to students via email or posted in a CMS such as Blackboard, Angel, or eCollege.
4. Instructor downloads streaming software onto a mobile phone.

Field Trip

1. Instructor arrives at fieldtrip site and launches streaming software on mobile phone. At  the designated time, he clicks the ‘Start’ on his phone and records video of the environment.
2. Students located anywhere in the world log in to the mTrek mobile fieldtrip website and view the video. Students can call in questions and comments using teleconferencing tools.
3. To close, instructor clicks ‘Stop’ and students close web browser.
